The structure of a heat pump has 4 main parts.

How heat pump works

Heat pump, also known as "central water heater", is a machine that uses the principle of thermodynamics including 4 cycles:

-Evaporation stage (the heat carrier absorbs the ambient air temperature and heats up, evaporating into a warm gaseous heat carrier, the air loses heat and condenses into water on the evaporator.

-The compressor heats up the heatsink when a compressor force is applied to it.

– Condensing stage (the heat carrier when leaving the compressor is heated up to 100 degrees Celsius and enters the condenser, where it will transfer heat to the water to heat it up to the required temperature of 55 to 65 degrees Celsius and is led to the insulation tank to keep the temperature. 

-Expansion valve (after the heat carrier transfers heat to the hot water, it continues to pass through the expansion valve to form a closed loop.

Therefore, heat pump water heaters are the optimal solution to save energy for hot water needs of families or production facilities in hot and humid climates, such as Vietnam.

A heat pump water heater works on the same principle as an air conditioner or a refrigerator. It absorbs heat from the air and converts it into hot water. Therefore, it is also called an air source heat pump. It runs on electricity but is more efficient than a conventional electric water heater.
